Job Role: HGV Mechanic
Location: Weston-super-Mare
Pay: £42,000
Hours: M-F 6am-3.30pm & 8.30am-6pm
Contract: Full time permanent role
HGV Mechanic / Technician / Fitter Duties
* Maintain and repair a fleet of circa 300 HGV’s to DVSA and manufacturer standards
* Carry out inspections, servicing, MOT preparation and complete service documentation
* Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve fleet reliability
* Diagnose faults using advanced diagnostic equipment, including auto-electrical systems
HGV Mechanic / Technician / Fitter Experience Required
* Apprenticeship trained with City & Guilds HGV Parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience servicing, repairing and fault-finding on commercial vehicles
* Strong knowledge of vehicle body electrics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Experience within the waste management sector is advantageous
* LGV Class C / HGV Class 2 licence desirable but not essential
* Ability to work independently, safely and competently in a physically demanding role
