Patent Litigation Associate – London
Our client is a leading international law firm with a well-established and highly regarded Intellectual Property practice in London. The team sits within one of the largest departments in the London office and advises a broad range of clients across multiple sectors, delivering high quality contentious and non-contentious IP advice on complex and commercially significant matters.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a mid-level Associate with three to five years post qualification experience to join the London IP team. This is a strong platform for an Associate looking to develop within a full service IP practice, working closely with partners on high value litigation and advisory work across life sciences, retail and consumer and technology sectors, while also supporting the wider development of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on the full range of intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on UK IP litigation across multiple sectors
* Assist with general IP advisory work in both contentious and non-contentious contexts
* Support IP partners with the development and growth of the practice
* Manage aspects of complex IP matters at an appropriate level, working efficiently alongside partners and senior colleagues
* Liaise and coordinate with fee earners across the group and with colleagues in other disciplines and jurisdictions as required
Requirements
* Three to five years post qualification experience in IP law within a comparable private practice environment
* Proven experience handling complex contentious and non-contentious IP matters
* Ideally have completed the Oxford Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice
* Existing UK IP experience is desirable
* Flexible approach with the ability to support matters across a broad range of IP issues and jurisdictions
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Partners, Associates and cross practice teams
* Ability to manage tasks and aspects of matters independently while working closely with senior lawyers
