Role Overview
We are seeking 2 enthusiastic Stroke Consultants to:
1. Provide effective and compassionate care for Stroke patients across a bed base of 48 beds.
2. Develop their own area of specialist interest and offer sub-specialty expertise.
3. Expand the current Stroke service locally and regionally.
4. Collaborate with the Tertiary service team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals as part of the West Yorkshire Associate of Acute Trusts (WYAAT).
5. Work with the Clinical Director and General Manager to review practices and implement innovative care models.
6. Engage in clinical research, teaching, and development.
7. Offer expert advice on complex cases to colleagues in primary and secondary care.
This full-time post offers 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), with part-time options encouraged. Responsibilities include assessing patients with suspected acute stroke, managing thrombolysis and thrombectomy cases, conducting TIA clinics, and caring for patients on HASU and ASU wards, including rehabilitation and follow-up clinics.
