Job Title: Medical Secretary
Location: London Bridge - St. Olaf House, 27 Tooley Street, SE1 2PR
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm)
Shift times: Monday – Friday, 0900-1700
Office based role
Salary: Competitive (dependent on skills and experience) + Pension and benefits

We’re looking for a Medical Secretary to join our Lupus Practice in London Bridge Hospital. In this role, you’ll support 6 consultants alongside the current team of 3 Senior Medical Secretaries. You will provide secretarial and administrative support of the highest quality to the consultants. To communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team and other key departments. To communicate effectively with patients and ensure the highest customer quality care.

What you’ll do:
1. Provide full secretarial support to the practice (including audio-typing of clinical/non-clinical material, reports etc) including those of a sensitive nature, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
2. Accurately register new patients.
3. Maintain and file accurate patient records, including appropriate patient case note filing, and preparation of relevant clinic notes prior to Outpatient Clinics which take place on a daily basis.
4. Co-ordinate patient appointments, communicating with patients, Consultants and the London Bridge team to facilitate them.
5. Receive new patient referrals and arrange relevant appointments across various hospital departments
6. Arrange investigations and consultations using hospital data systems.
7. Manage other correspondence and telephone contacts appropriately.
What you’ll bring:
8. Previous Medical Secretarial experience is essential.
9. Significant understanding of Medical terminology.
10. Strong attention to detail, accurate typing and letter proof reading skills.
11. Computer literacy.
12. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
13. Knowledge of Meditex would be an advantage.
