We are a busy GP surgery on the Lincolnshire coast and we are looking for a Full-Time Administrator to join our busy Medical and Patient Administration team. The role is 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, within Practice opening hours. Our Administration team are a key part of the success of our Practice, working with Clinicians and Managers to provide a professional service and invaluable support to meet the needs of our Patients and Practice colleagues.
Overview
This role is wide ranging and requires completion of a variety of tasks to support the practice and patients.
Responsibilities
* Receiving telephone calls including appointments, telephone advice or home visits
* Providing initial contact for GP/CP/Registrar and incoming telephone calls and queries
* Actioning tasks/notifications/results/hospital letters as directed by GPs/CPs/Registrar
* Processing patient registrations and coding to patient records
* Typing letters, reports and supporting PA colleagues as required, with information for responses
* Requesting sickness certificates
* Completing relevant documentation and any other administrative tasks as requested
* Contacting patients and outside agencies as requested by GPs/CPs/Registrar
* Providing patients with a summary of results as required
* Liaising with clinicians to discuss results or specific diagnoses as necessary
* Covering for other colleagues when on annual or sick leave
* Supporting colleagues within the team with higher levels of workload, as able
* Attending/completing courses relevant to the post and keeping up to date with required training
* Chaperoning patients if trained and requested by GP/CP/Registrar
* Referrals/E-referrals
* Attending meetings as requested and minuting meetings as required
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience in general administrative duties within a healthcare setting is desirable. Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and managers and to maintain patient confidentiality. Flexibility to cover colleagues during absence and to participate in training as required.
