Job Description Job Title:Medical Receptionist Reports To:Reception Manager / Administration Manager Hours:36 hours per week Job Summary To provide a courteous, efficient, and effective reception service, assisting patients in accessing appropriate healthcare services and supporting the practice team. The role requires projecting a positive and professional image in person and via telephone. Key Responsibilities Deliver an efficient reception service to patients and visitors. Manage appointments, enquiries, and urgent consultations appropriately. Handle telephone calls, messages, and home visit requests accurately. Process repeat prescriptions within 48 hours. Prepare documentation for clinics and surgeries. Register new patients and maintain accurate records. File and retrieve patient notes and correspondence promptly. Maintain reception area and kitchen cleanliness. Open and close the premises securely. Undertake additional duties as requested by management. Confidentiality Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient, staff, and practice information in line with policies and data protection regulations. Health & Safety Promote and maintain health, safety, and infection control standards, reporting hazards and undertaking relevant training.
