About The Role
In your role as Head of Service at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: Kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist Care homes. Every person working here understands that our Residents are individuals with their own stories to tell. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
As Head of Service, your duties will include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love. You will assist in preparing cakes for the morning tea trolley and desserts for lunch. You’ll demonstrate high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, monitoring fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters on equipment use, or cleaning up spills, resident well-being will always be your priority.
We are looking for someone with kitchen experience who is familiar with The Food Safety Act 1990, The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR, and COSHH regulations. Good record-keeping and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with residents and colleagues, you should be considerate and kind—after all, it’s in your nature.
Subject to experience and qualifications.
We will provide full training, making this a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will have access to a wide range of benefits supporting your physical and mental well-being, including:
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays
* Group life assurance
* Learning and development opportunities with support to attain qualifications
* GP online service providing 24/7 GP consultations via an app, available to you and your children under 16
* Opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues in a supportive team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
* Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support
* Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
* Refer a friend scheme offering up to £1000 per successful referral, depending on the role
We are committed to a quick onboarding process from offer to start date.
