A globally renowned manufacturer of complex precision solutions to the aerospace and defence sectors has a new vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join its leadership team. You will lead the manufacturing engineering function, ensuring the successful introduction of new products and driving excellence in manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in shaping the company’s future capabilities, identifying opportunities for automation, and embedding innovative solutions across production.
The Role
Lead the engineering team, achieving high levels of engagement to drive process improvements, efficiency, and quality.
Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that align with production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify and introduce new technologies, automation, and lean manufacturing practices.
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, from concept through to production readiness.
Develop the skills and capabilities of the manufacturing engineering team.
Optimise process capability to drive improvements in return and margins.
Ensure compliance with health & safety and industry standards across all engineering activities.
Analyse production data and KPIs to drive data-based decision-making and performance enhancement.
Provide technical leadership and robust decision making on complex and varied engineering risks and solutions.
Implement and promote lean processes to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
Develop project plans and track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
The Person
Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role gained within the aerospace or complex manufacturing environment.
Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
Strong track record of delivering NPI projects and developing advanced manufacturing processes.
Exceptional leadership, project management and influencing skills.
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process automation
