Responsible Welding Coordinator

Our client is seeking an experienced Responsible Welding Coordinator for a 3-6 month contract based in Rugby. This is a key role supporting welding quality assurance, compliance, and process improvement within a busy manufacturing environment.
You will act as the main technical point of contact for welding activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, reviewing welding documentation, supporting welders and supervisors, and helping drive continuous improvement across the factory.
What you'll do
* Oversee welding compliance in line with ISO 14731 and ISO 3834-2.
* Review and maintain WPS, WPQRs, and welding documentation.
* Support welder qualification, training, and competency reviews.
* Provide technical support on welding parameters, consumables, and process selection.
* Investigate weld defects and support root cause analysis and corrective action.
* Oversee inspection activity and support audits.
* Review drawings, specifications, and welding requirements before production starts.
* Promote safe working practices and high standards of housekeeping.
What we're looking for
* Experience in welding coordination, welding engineering, or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of welding standards and quality principles.
* Experience with steel welding processes such as TIG, MMA, and SAW.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
* Experience with defect analysis, NDT, and materials control.
* IWS, IWT, IWE or CSWIP qualifications are desirable but not essential.
