I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation and a positive culture. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. The organization has a stable client base and a consistent record of growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and top clinical experts, joining a collaborative culture.
This is an individual sales role, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western Europe. You will be responsible for acquiring new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success in this role requires a hunter mentality, a robust network, and a proven sales track record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets.
* Developing and executing strategies for target markets.
* Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs from qualified potential clients.
* Using Salesforce to track client interactions and update opportunities.
* Leading and managing the sales process from lead generation to closure.
* Overseeing proposal development to align with client expectations, including strategy, budget, and timelines.
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
* Collaborating with marketing to support business development efforts.
* Providing insights to leadership for sales planning.
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation.
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
* Maximizing opportunities through internal research staff and travel schedules.
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities.
