Job Description
Part of a successful small chain of nurseries, this nursery is looking for a Room Leader to join the team who has a minimum of two years experience in the role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, resulting in the total avoidance of preventable accidents and promoting a feeling of security and satisfaction amongst all parents.
2. Caring for the all-round daily needs of the children to enhance their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.
3. Supervise all staff within your room to ensure high standards are constantly achieved.
4. Contribute effectively to the team maintaining a high level of communication throughout the whole nursery.
Main Tasks
Team Contribution
1. Work as an effective part of the Nursery team, ensuring good morale, a high reputation both in and outside of the Nursery, and that all standards are met.
2. Maintain a high level of awareness of company policies and procedures and ensure these are followed by yourself and your staff daily.
3. Train and support new staff using the Training Programme.
4. Include and encourage all staff members in their daily activities and development through leading by example.
Child and Parent Care
1. Ensure parents have full satisfaction through appropriate information and feedback from all Nursery staff.
2. Ensure all staff communicate appropriately with children during play and meal times.
3. Be the first point of contact for new children and parents, ensuring they feel comfortable and safe during settling-in sessions, and keep parents informed of their child's progress afterward.
4. Maintain and encourage high levels of personal hygiene with children.
5. Ensure children are tidy, happy, and ready for their parents to take home at the end of their session.
6. Provide daily updates to parents via diary sheets or verbal communication.
7. Write an informative monthly parental newsletter, reviewing previous month's events and outlining future plans, with input from your team.
8. Respect parents' wishes regarding the confidentiality of personal information.
9. Be open and welcoming to all parents and children, ready to answer queries when required.
