We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support delivery on the nationally significant Net Zero Teesside scheme. This major infrastructure project forms a key part of the UK's decarbonisation strategy and requires strong technical and operational leadership across multiple civil engineering workstreams.
The Sub Agent will take responsibility for managing specific sections of works, ensuring safe, compliant and programme-driven delivery across structures, earthworks or underground services packages.
Role Responsibilities
As Sub Agent, you will:
Take ownership of designated work sections (structures, earthworks or underground services)
Prepare, review and manage RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
Oversee and coordinate temporary works in line with approved designs and procedures
Manage and implement ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) and quality control processes
Monitor and drive programme performance within your section
Plan and coordinate lifting operations, plant and material requirements
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective delivery
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and technical standards
Support cost control, resource forecasting and daily planning activities
Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is completed to required standards
Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
Raise and manage technical queries and interface with design teams where required
Workstream Experience Required
Candidates should have strong experience in at least one of the following:
Structures - reinforced concrete, structural steel, complex formwork and heavy civils
Earthworks - bulk excavation, ground improvement, compaction and earthmoving logistics
Underground Services - drainage, ducting, utilities installation and associated temporary works
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Sub Agent within major infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects
Strong understanding of RAMS preparation, temporary works procedures and QA systems
Experience managing lifting operations and plant coordination
Ability to manage subcontractors and direct delivery teams
Good programme awareness and sequencing knowledge
Strong technical knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings
Proactive approach to risk management and problem resolution
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience on energy, industrial or large-scale infrastructure schemes is highly desirable.
Qualifications (Desirable)
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
CSCS Card (appropriate level)
SMSTS
Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator
Appointed Person or lifting-related qualifications (advantageous)
