A leading PE backed organisation is looking for a motivated Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in Bolton. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day transactional operations of a successful ecommerce and retail business. You will help maintain accurate financial records across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and stock accounting, while working closely with colleagues across both finance and operations. What You’ll Do As an Accounts Assistant, you will play an important role in the finance department’s daily operations. Your work will support accurate financial reporting and smooth processes across the business. You’ll be involved in managing supplier relationships through timely invoice processing and payment runs, supporting customer account management through accurate payment allocation and invoicing, and performing regular bank reconciliations. You Will Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently. Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes, resolving any discrepancies with suppliers or internal teams. Prepare supplier payment runs and ensure payments are approved and processed on time. Maintain the accounts payable ledger and reconcile supplier accounts regularly. Process customer payments, allocate them correctly, and support credit control where required. Raise sales invoices and credit notes as needed, responding promptly to accounts receivable queries. Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations, resolving any unallocated or unmatched items. Report on transactional finance KPIs and highlight issues for management review. Reconcile payment platforms and stock movements between operational and finance systems. Work collaboratively with other teams to address stock-related discrepancies, including freight charges, duties, stock adjustments, and stock variances. What You Bring The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar finance or accounts role and be comfortable managing a range of transactional processes. You’ll combine accuracy with good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. We’re Looking For Someone Who Has Experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Administrator role (desirable). Experience with stock-related finance processes (preferred but not essential). A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling data. Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
