The Alness and Invergordon Medical practice is looking for a self-motivated, committed Band 6 Practice Nurse to join our dedicated friendly team for a Fixed Term period providing general nursing services for our patient population. The successful candidate would be expected:
* To deliver chronic disease management clinics (Quality and Outcomes framework and Enhanced Services) to include CHD, COPD, Asthma, Diabetes and Hypertension (not inclusive).
* To routinely monitor blood levels and clinical conditions in stable thyroid disease, lithium treatment, antiepileptic treatment & DMRA drugs etc.
* To be involved in development and review of protocols for the management of chronic disease.
* To provide contraceptive advice and services including pill checks, IUD check and removals, depo provera injections and Implanon fittings and removal. To provide well man and women clinics to include the undertaking of smear tests.
* To provide health promotion advice including sexual health, smoking cessation, weight reduction and alcohol brief intervention.
* To undertake general nursing duties including dressings, blood tests, treatment of warts
* It would be desirable for the candidate to be a Nurse Prescriber
* To be able to undertake:
o Urine specimen testing.
o Doppler Studies
o ECG
o Spirometry
* To provide emergency treatment if required including the assessment of acute presentations.
* To provide telephone advice where appropriate.
* Vision and DOCMAN experience highly desirable.
