Join our client's City Development and Neighbourhoods team as a Carpenter, focusing mainly on UPVC repairs and installations. This role is crucial in carrying out quality, customer-focused plastering repairs, maintenance, and improvement work to properties and other buildings across the city.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Undertake a range of repairs & maintenance tasks of a core trade to the agreed quality and performance standards, including enabling and finishing works.
* Assess repairs and maintenance work required and take appropriate action to rectify, aiming to achieve a ‘right first time’ service.
* Determine and arrange appropriate and value-for-money resources required to complete repairs & maintenance and remove any waste.
* Manage the stock of parts and equipment on vehicles to ensure efficient completion of work.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve or notify of issues arising such as outstanding repairs, rechargeable items, tenancy breaches, and safeguarding.
* Direct and supervise apprentices and other assigned trainees.
* Ensure areas are clean and tidy following repairs & refurbishment work.
* Liaise with service customers before, during, and after work to ensure minimal inconvenience.
* Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade.
* Experience in carpentry and joinery, particularly in occupied domestic properties.
* Proficient in repairs and maintenance, including fault diagnosis and rectification.
* High-level communication and listening skills, with the ability to process written documentation effectively.
* Competent in ICT systems (e.g.MS Word, email).
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
* Health & Safety training; a valid CSCS card is desirable.
