The Role and Team Your Role This is a fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor/Legal Executive, to get involved in challenging and complex cases. The work will be predominantly Tribunal work funded by Legal Expenses Insurance, under the leadership of Donna Seferta. You'll need to have experience in Claimant and Respondent Tribunal claims, a desire to do the right thing and the ability to think outside of the box. You will gain plenty of hands on experience from the outset with support from senior members of the team along with access to a committed training programme devised by our PSL to further your development. We can consider full time or part time- 4 days a week for this role. Our Team The Birmingham Employment team is led by partners Donna Seferta and Elaine Huttley. We provide support to individuals and businesses in a variety of different sectors. The work undertaken by the team includes but is not limited to advising clients on issues such as redundancies, disciplinary and grievances, Settlement Agreements, TUPE, absence management, a wide range of Employment Tribunal claims and claims in the higher courts. Some of the things we've been doing recently: Negotiated a substantial settlement at Judicial Mediation for a Claimant in a strongly contested LGBTQ dispute Secured a settlement package of over £300,000 for a Financial Analyst against an Investment Bank in a complex bonus dispute Successfully defended a claim against a Software company for whistleblowing, discrimination and unlawful deduction of wages where compensation sought was over £500,000 Recently secured a deposit order against a Claimant for our Charity client in a discrimination claim Represented Claimants and Defendants in the Employment Appeal Tribunals About You An experienced Legal Executive will be considered Experience representing both Claimants and Respondents in the Employment Tribunals A clear enthusiasm for this area of law and a commitment to securing the best outcomes for your clients whilst working under pressure The ability to manage a varied and heavy workload The ability to work with and mentor paralegals and legal assistants Experience of representing individuals and businesses funded by legal expenses insurance is desirable Our Benefits - What We Can Offer You Flexible working options - Make work fit around your life, not the other way around. 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can 'buy' up to 35hrs of extra holiday too Generous and flexible pension schemes.
