Assistant Mechanical Technician
Salary – £32,454 - £44,625

As an Assistant Mechanical Technician at FCC Environment, you will support the Mechanical Technicians in carrying out routine maintenance activities across the site. You will assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), scheduled maintenance work and outages, working under the guidance of experienced Technicians while developing your own skills and knowledge.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
•Supporting Mechanical Technicians with routine maintenance, repairs and servicing of plant equipment
•Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) under supervision
•Assisting during scheduled maintenance work and plant outages
•Working safely at all times in line with FCC health, safety and environmental procedures
•Reporting any hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions to your supervisor
•Using appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment correctly
•Assisting with quality control of maintenance work and recording maintenance history
•Gaining experience across a range of mechanical plant and equipment, including pumps, fans, cranes and mechanical drives
•Completing required training and competency modules to support your development
What are we looking for?
•Experience or interest in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industry or industrial environment
•A strong awareness of health and safety and a willingness to follow procedures
•Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
•Willingness to learn, develop skills and work towards competency assessments
•Ability to work under supervision and take responsibility for assigned tasks
•A proactive, reliable and detail-oriented approach to work
