Overview
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised nationally and internationally as the United Kingdom’s leading organisation for protective policing for the civil nuclear industry and other critical national infrastructure. The CNC recruits skilled and committed professionals to join a highly trained, professional team responsible for 24/7 armed response, patrolling and protecting nuclear sites, facilities and materials, and working with local Home Office Police Forces.
As a CNC Police Officer, you will undergo world-class training and participate in a condensed 4-week training programme. You may be aligned with a local course to fit delivery at your new duty location. CNC values, the Code of Ethics, and high professional standards apply at all times.
Responsibilities
* Provide 24/7 armed response, patrol and protect nuclear sites, facilities and materials.
* Patrol local communities and collaborate with local Home Office Police Forces.
* Participate as part of the Strategic Armed Policing Reserve and support nationwide deployments (e.g., Operation Temperer).
* Engage in continuous professional development through a world-class training programme.
* Uphold CNC values and ethics in all duties and interactions.
Requirements and Eligibility
* Full manual driving licence.
* Substantive Police Sergeant.
* Qualified Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) / Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) trained with current force.
* Transferees who join the CNC typically retain salary and annual leave entitlements from their last force.
