My client is a highly respected, technology-led design & manufacturing company which is recognised as a market leader in the field of conveyor-based materials handling systems. A key part of this is to strengthen the senior exec team by identifying a high-calibre individual to lead the company’s engineering activity ensuring technical excellence, consistency of standards and successful delivery of engineered systems across the sectors in which it operates.
Key responsibilities will include technical standards and design governance, engineering delivery performance on live projects, product development (including R&D), engineering resource planning and electrical standards & site acceptance.
In addition, there will be a requirement to effectively manage a team and to mentor and develop individuals to ensure effective succession planning and future capability.
You will have a proven track record of operating at senior leadership level within an engineering-led, project-based environment and be degree qualified or time served in mechanical, electrical, controls or systems engineering. Prior experience in system integration, automation or materials handling sectors is a prerequisite.
Proven communication and influencing skills together with a collaborative approach and strong commercial awareness will be keys to success in the role.
