Accounts Assistant Location: Crieff (Office-based / Hybrid) Salary: Competitive, based on experience The Opportunity We are recruiting for an interesting and varied Accounts Assistant role within a small, friendly, and growing accountancy practice in the Crieff area. Joining a warm and supportive team, you will provide essential support to a qualified Accountant, a part-qualified Accountant, and a Partner, working across a diverse range of client accounts. Experience & Skills Required To be considered for this position, you should have 3 to 4+ years of experience in the following: Ledger Management: Data processing, input, and verification; managing sales and purchase ledgers. Reconciliations: Invoice, cash, and bank reconciliations. Account Preparation: Assisting with P&Ls, helping prepare final accounts, and supporting self-assessments. Payroll & HMRC: Assisting with payroll runs and making enquiries with HMRC. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with Xero (or similar accounting software). Qualifications & Background Education: AAT Level 2 / 3 or equivalent. Practice Experience: Previous experience within a UK Accountancy Practice is a major advantage. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with owner-managed/small business clients (specifically FRS 102 and FRS 105) is highly desirable. Compliance: You must hold the right to work in the UK (documentary evidence required). Work Patterns & Location Hybrid Working: This is an office-based role, with hybrid options available following the successful completion of your probation period. Travel: Applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Dunfermline/Crieff area.
