CNC Operator
Cullompton, Devon
gap personnel are recruiting for a fast-growing engineering company based in Cullompton, Devon.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Operator/Setter to join a busy and expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with turning and/or milling experience who is looking to further develop their skills in a dynamic engineering environment.
Experience with Mazatrol or Heidenhain controls is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC machines (turning and milling) to produce high-quality precision components
* Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
* Monitor machine performance and output quality, making adjustments as required
* Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety requirements
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
* Work closely with the engineering team to improve processes and productivity
* Adhere to company policies and maintain high standards of workmanship
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience as a CNC Operator/Setter (turning and/or milling)
* Previous experience programming is beneficial
* Experience with Mazatrol or Heidenhain controls
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings
* Confident using measuring equipment and working to tight tolerances
* Proactive problem-solving approach
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
* Ability to work under minimal supervision
Desirable
* CNC apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification
* Experience with other CNC controls or machinery
Hours & Pay:
* Competitive hourly rate £18 – £22 DOE
* Monday to Friday, 0800am – 1700pm
