The International Trade team at the Chamber also delivers training, advice, and documentation services to a range of exporters. The Chamber is entering an exciting period in its development with new members joining every week and is expanding its outreach and influence with key strategic partners across the region.
Role
This role provides project delivery and coordination support for the Greater Devon Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP). Working under the Chamber’s Project Manager, you will contribute to both the ongoing delivery of the existing LSIP and the development of the new LSIP for 2025–2028, ensuring outputs are delivered to DfE requirements. The role combines project administration, stakeholder engagement and compliance, helping to build strong relationships across employers, providers and strategic authorities to achieve meaningful impact.
Key responsibilities
* Project delivery and coordination
* Support the Project Manager in monitoring and delivering Phase 2 activities, ensuring outputs and KPIs are met.
* Assist in the creation of the new LSIP by gathering evidence, coordinating contributions and drafting supporting documentation.
* Maintain project documentation, trackers and risk registers; ensure version control and accuracy.
* Prepare and collate information for funding claims and DfE monitoring, ensuring financial and administrative compliance.
* Support structured engagement with employers, employer representative bodies (ERBs), providers and community partners to identify skills needs.
* Work with strategic authorities and their boards to align LSIP activity with local and regional policy priorities.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key partners, exercising diplomacy and political awareness.
* Represent LSIP in selected forums, preparing clear reports and updates for stakeholders.
Communications and reporting
* Draft reports, summaries and presentations for internal and external audiences.
* Contribute to LSIP communications activity, ensuring achievements are promoted through official channels and partners.
* Provide data and evidence for monitoring returns and DfE reviews, working under the guidance of the LSIP Project Manager.
Team support
* Provide coordination and administration support to the LSIP Project Manager and wider Chamber team.
* Work flexibly with other colleagues on related initiatives to ensure consistent delivery across the programme.
Person specification
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Experience in project administration or coordination, ideally within a complex, multi-partner environment.
* Good understanding of the post-16 skills system or willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
* High standards of written and spoken communication, including drafting reports and professional correspondence.
* Confident in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including employers, providers and public sector bodies.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with initiative and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of the Greater Devon area and willingness to travel across the region.
* Experience working with grant-funded projects or publicly funded programmes.
* Understanding of local and regional economic development structures (e.g. LEPs, local authorities, devolution).
* Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes for projects.
