Are you a senior-level CNC programmer with strong experience in 3- and 5-axis machining, HyperMill, and process optimisation? This is your opportunity to lead programming strategy for a cutting-edge manufacturing environment, taking ownership of technical machining operations from programming through to production support.
We’re working with a highly respected precision engineering business in Oxfordshire that supplies into advanced technology sectors. They’re seeking a Lead Programmer to own and develop machining methods across metallic components, supporting NPI, process improvements, and mentoring junior programmers.
🔍 What You'll Be Doing:

Lead CNC programming and machining methodology across 3- and 5-axis milling operations
*
Program using HyperMill and collaborate on tooling, fixture design, and CAD inputs
*
Drive improvements in efficiency, cycle time, quality, and safety
*
Support new product introduction, process validation, and prove-outs on the shop floor
*
Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior programmers and liaising with production, engineering, and quality teams
✅ What We’re Looking For:
*
Proven experience programming multi-axis CNC mills (3/4/5 axis)
*
Strong CAM programming skills (ideally HyperMill) and ability to work from CAD data
*
Confident working with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens controls
*
Understanding of tooling and fixture design, and the ability to support NPI
*
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
