VolkerStevin requires an Environmental Advisor to join our team. If you are passionate about improving the environment and sustainability of our business, we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Ensure their allocated sites comply with environmental legislation and company and client requirements
* Minimise risks of potential breaches
* Support site teams and the business
* Participate in business improvement initiatives related to sustainability, audit, and inspection of VS projects
* Promote environmental awareness through training, briefings, and campaigns
* Encourage reduction in carbon emissions across projects and the company
* Plan and deliver training to site teams and stakeholders
* Attend meetings as required
* Investigate incidents and prepare reports and action plans for senior management
* Develop relationships with stakeholders and client representatives
* Work effectively with regulators and third parties
* Collaborate with other environmental team members
* Support sustainability initiatives and champion new ideas
* Promote the VolkerStevin safety behavioural programme and the VolkerStevin Way
* Embrace change and support others in adapting to new ideas
* Undertake additional relevant duties as required
You should have a good knowledge of environmental legislation applicable to engineering and construction. Experience in the wastewater industry and a professional environmental qualification such as PISEF or similar are advantageous. The role requires travel and overnight stays; a full driving license is necessary. Flexibility regarding WFH is possible, but regular site and office presence is important.
