Master Diagnostic and Support Engineer (UK-Based)

We are actively seeking experienced freelance professionals (independent contractors) with proven expertise to provide high‑level services for a strategic, fixed‑term project in the United Kingdom, covering critical responsibilities across automotive diagnostic engineering and support.


Logistics and Engagement Framework

* Engagement Type: Freelance Offer (External Professional Services)
* Primary Location: United Kingdom (UK)
* Format: Minimum On‑site/Remote Team (flexibility for physical presence is required)
* Estimated Duration: 1 Year, commencing from Early 2026


Key Technical Requirements


1. Diagnostic and Configuration Engineering

* SBD/ISIP Development: Design, release, and maintenance of Symptom‑Based Diagnostic routines.
* Module Configuration: Development and maintenance of module configuration applications (e.g., Towbar dealer fitment).
* Essential Tools: Proficient use of Odyssey, Arbotext, and GradeX for routine development and testing.
* Validation & Publication: Sign‑off and validation of SBD/ISIP routines using simulation, rigs, and vehicles, and publishing executables via Odyssey.
* OTX Specialism: Implementing performance improvements in complex OTX diagnostics.
* PD Liaison: Interfacing with Product Development (PD) and related engineering areas to provide diagnostic test sign‑off.


2. Software Tooling and Support

* Tools Development: Developing and maintaining software validation tools (e.g., Colinizer, SVEN, MDX validator).
* MCP/FDRS Support: Providing technical support and authoring MCP OTX applications for New and Global Programs (Powertrain, Body Chassis, Electrical).
* Issue Resolution: Resolving Field Feedback cases against MCP applications, handling legacy FDRS field concerns, and supporting JIRA ticket closure targets.


3. Program Coordination and Analytics

* Program SPOC: Serving as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for program information and linking to PD Program Teams.
* Data Analysis: Experience in extracting, transforming, and cleaning data from various sources.
* Statistical Insight: Applying statistical and analytical techniques (e.g., regression analysis) to derive meaningful insights and predict outcomes.
* Reporting & Visualization: Creating visually appealing dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings.
* Dealer Support: Assisting in the analysis and resolution of diagnostic software/hardware issues raised via the IDS Helpdesk.
* Remote Investigation: Ability to investigate vehicles remotely using Team Viewer and other systems.
