We are recruiting for a growing e-commerce business based near Ormskirk as they seek recruit an Assistant Accountant. The business is in an exciting phase of growth having recently invested across operations, systems and new modern office space.
This is a newly created role reporting to the Financial Controller and offers a clear progression plan alongside study support for AAT, ACCA or CIMA. It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their finance experience and gain exposure to month-end processes within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
Supporting the preparation of management information
Assisting with national statistical reporting
Managing day-to-day finance operations including sales invoices, purchase invoices, cashbook payments and petty cash
Maintaining credit control data to support the sales team with customer account management
Processing and ensuring timely bank payments
Performing accounts receivable and payable reconciliations
Maintaining accurate sales ledger and purchase ledger records
Assisting with payroll preparation, including timesheet and attendance data for the external payroll bureau
Supporting responses to external auditor queries
Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts
Ensuring financial data is handled in line with company policies and financial regulations
About You
Currently studying AAT, or planning to progress onto ACCA or CIMA
Experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / similar finance role
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident using finance systems and Excel
Keen to develop your accounting career within a growing business
