Brambles Community Pre-school opened in 2008 and we have an outstanding reputation for quality day care. The preschool is in a large classroom, has a large outdoor space and has an outdoor nurture room.
We are located within the grounds of Thornhill Primary School, in a SureStart Children's Centre, close to M27 and on several bus routes.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Preschool Practitioner to become part of our team. The candidate must have the relevant level 2 or 3 Qualifications of the Early Years Foundation Stage (essential). The person needs to be passionate about working with children and in childcare.

* Permanent and a full time position, 8:15am-3:45pm Monday to Friday – term time only. 35 hours per week, 38 weeks a year.

Requirements:
* Responsible for your own key group of children, documenting observations for them and supporting their development and learning and communicating their progress clearly with their parents/carers.
* Interviews will not be arranged until fully completed forms are returned to the setting
* GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
* 1 year childcare experience (preferred)
* Level 2 or 3 Qualifications of the Early Years Foundation Stage (essential)
Main responsibilities and tasks:
* To work within our Early Years Team, overseeing planning and implementation of activities with individuals or groups of children; promoting effective teaching and learning.
* To be part of our Early Years Team that provides a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities, both indoors and outdoors.
* To promote the inclusion of all children.
* Ensuring the on-going cleanliness of the setting and maintenance of equipment and resources.
* To use professional knowledge of the individual child and diverse ways that children learn and develop, to meet their differing needs.
* To establish positive and sensitive relationships with children.
* To act as a role model and set achievable expectations.
* To be responsible for organising the environment inside and outside to ensure that resources and equipment are available and appropriate to meet the needs of the individual children. These activities will take into account children's abilities, interests, language and cultural backgrounds.
* To meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene, whilst promoting independence. Including but not limited to; nappy changing and the changing of soiled clothing.
* To be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage in order to meet all learning interests and needs of children, extending them where necessary.
* To contribute to the review and further development of the Early Years Foundation Stage in the setting.
* To monitor and evaluate children's learning through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies.
* To contribute to the setting's continuous development through conversations within the team and with line managers and team meetings.
* To provide objective and accurate feedback and reports for parents and other professionals on children's achievements, progress and related matters.
* To liaise with outside agencies regarding children's development when needed.
* To undertake any duties set to you by the Management Team.
