Solicitor – Clinical Negligence (Claimant) Location: Birmingham Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 A leading national law firm is looking to recruit a Solicitor (1–7 PQE) to join its specialist Clinical Negligence team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Legal 500 recognised department, working alongside award-winning Partners on high-value, complex clinical negligence matters. You’ll be part of a collaborative and compassionate team, acting on behalf of clients affected by serious medical failings. The work is varied and includes cases involving brain and spinal injuries, birth trauma, fatal claims, delayed cancer diagnoses and surgical negligence. You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to people’s lives while developing your career in one of the UK’s most respected teams in this field. This role suits a Solicitor with experience managing their own litigated clinical negligence caseload who is now looking to accelerate their development in a top-tier practice. You’ll benefit from excellent mentoring, a clear progression path and the flexibility to work in a way that supports your work-life balance. The Ideal Candidate: 1–7 years’ PQE in clinical/medical negligence Experience managing your own caseload, including litigated claims Strong client-care skills and an empathetic, human approach A commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for vulnerable clients Commercially aware with a proactive and problem-solving mindset Key Responsibilities Include: Running a varied and complex caseload of medical negligence claims Working on high-value cases involving serious injury and fatalities Engaging with clients, experts and counsel to progress claims effectively Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to team growth Participating in case strategy, rehabilitation planning and interim payment negotiations What’s On Offer: Hybrid working with flexible arrangements 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), with the option to buy more Generous pension contributions and enhanced parental leave Private Health membership and access to Aviva Digital GP Well-being and mental health support initiatives
