We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, working closely with our Construction colleagues to deliver a diverse and high‑profile annual capital works programme covering carriageway resurfacing, surface dressing, footway improvements and a range of related highway infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
* Own the full commercial lifecycle of bridges and structures schemes with project values up to £5m.
* Provide full commercial and contractual management of assigned schemes from feasibility through to final account.
* Prepare, manage and maintain cost plans, target costs, forecasts and cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
* Administer changes in NEC3 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events and quotation assessments.
* Support risk and opportunity management within the project portfolio, contributing to cost certainty and value for money.
* Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial management role, ideally within highways, infrastructure or public sector works.
* Good working knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts and change effectively.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
