Application Support Associate Location: Bretby Business Unit: IT Team Central Services About the Role SOCOTEC is seeking an Application Support Associate to join our growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career to develop technical expertise while contributing to a dynamic and expanding organisation. As part of our Central Services IT team, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining business-critical applications that power SOCOTEC's operations. You'll work with a diverse range of bespoke web, desktop, and mobile applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Handle Service Desk requests and act as 3rd line specialist support Provide support for system releases and general maintenance Monitor, analyse, and resolve production application issues, taking preventative actions to minimise recurrence Deliver fixes and corrections to systems efficiently Assist end users with requests and incidents to enable the business to meet its goals Share knowledge and contribute to building comprehensive knowledge guides Work in a structured and methodical manner following industry best practices Support continuous improvement and evolution of the development team function What We're Looking For Essential: Minimum 1 year of industry and IT experience Experience working in either IT service desk or IT application support Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills A supportive attitude and openness to change Desirable Knowledge (training provided): MySQL & MS SQL server REST and Web APIs Windows and Linux servers Apache Tomcat, Docker, Azure Microsoft 365 SharePoint Programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Node.js) Mobile app development (Android) What We Offer The opportunity to work with modern technologies and practices Exposure to a wide range of technical systems and platforms Professional development in a supportive team environment About SOCOTEC SOCOTEC is a global leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC), specialising in risk management and asset integrity across construction, infrastructure, and various industries.
