To maximise your opportunities for an Industrial Placement with us this year, apply to no more than 3 adverts. Multiple roles within a single advert are considered one application. Roles Available in Location: Montrose, Ware, Worthing, Stevenage

Education required: To apply for this placement, you must be currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, medical engineering, fine chemicals engineering, oil & gas engineering, pharmaceutical engineering.

Please note Role 4 is only open to Meng candidates. Read the degree requirements for each role carefully before applying.

Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK or ROI university for the duration of your placement.

Eligibility: If you have already graduated with a bachelor’s degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Expected Start date: July 2026

Duration: 1 year (approximately)

Salary: £25,400 plus a bonus. Workplace Arrangements: Full time on site required

The Roles

Role 1 – Chemical Engineering – Montrose

Degree requirements: Chemical Engineering

Overview: Support day-to-day manufacture of APIs, capital projects, sustainability initiatives or cleaning/process improvements in Manufacturing Science and Technology. Work with Process Engineers and other teams on plant operations, troubleshooting, process safety and automation.

Role 2 – Chemical Engineering – Ware

Degree requirements: Chemical Engineering

Overview: Support manufacturing of Oral Solid Dose products; monitor performance across Oral Solid Dose, Respiratory and Micronising streams; assist in transfer from R&D to GSC and scale-up activities.

Key Learnings

* Problem solving for production issues
* Product lifecycle management support
* Process improvements and safety gains
* Manufacturing development for new products
* Technical reporting, stakeholder management and data analysis

Role 3 – Downstream Process Engineering – Worthing

Degree Requirements: Chemical or Biochemical Engineering

Overview: Focus on biotechnology processes including fermentation, purification and scale-up for drug substances, intermediates and enzymes; laboratory-to-commercial scale projects.

* Process problem solving and continuous improvement

* Data analysis and safety/quality adherence

Role 4 – Process Engineering and Analytics – Ware R&D

Degree requirements: Currently studying an MEng in chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, medical engineering, fine chemicals engineering, oil & gas engineering, pharmaceutical engineering

Overview: Apply unit operations, process modelling and scale-up to support drug product development lifecycle; deliver safe, compliant processes across lab to commercial scale.

Key Learnings

* Cross-disciplinary collaboration and data-driven problem solving
* Experimental work with autonomy
* Documentation and knowledge sharing
* Safety and quality adherence

Role 5 – Process Engineering Automation & Modelling – Stevenage

Degree requirements: Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics or computer science

Overview: Focus on modelling, automation and digital solutions to support drug product development and manufacturing across lab, pilot and manufacturing scales.

Key Learnings

* Modelling and automation solutions for process development
* Developing process models and control strategies
* Documentation and teamwork
