About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a patient, dedicated, and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism (ASD) within a supportive and inclusive primary school in East Finchley. This is a full-time, long-term role, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a childs early education journey.
You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide consistent, structured support for a pupil who requires tailored intervention to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop communication and social skills. The role will involve creating a calm, predictable, and nurturing environment to support both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism (ASD).
2. Implement and follow the pupils EHCP and individual support plan.
3. Support communication, interaction, and emotional regulation.
4. Adapt learning activities to suit the pupils needs and learning style.
5. Encourage positive behaviour and support transitions throughout the school day.
