Job Description
Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, we are recruiting Project Planners to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is leading industry change, and we are eager to speak with individuals experienced in project planning about what Turner & Townsend can offer. Candidates will be required to work at our client’s office in Dungeness four days a week.
Main Purpose of the Role
Planners will support the team and senior planners on work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. Work packages may differ in size, with Planners working across multiple smaller projects or one larger project. A Planner will be responsible for building and maintaining their assigned schedule(s), understanding the scope and interfaces with other work packages or projects. They will liaise with stakeholders to gather data for regular progress updates and play a key role in change management. Their schedules will drive project work, ensuring client objectives are met and projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Accountabilities
As a Planner, your responsibilities may include:
* Creating, developing, and maintaining project schedules aligned with project requirements.
* Managing schedule data and submissions according to NEC or FIDIC contracts.
* Developing status reports to inform management on project progress.
* Reducing uncertainty, improving efficiency, and clarifying project objectives.
* Defining scope of work with the project team to develop and update detailed schedules and cost information.
* Assisting project managers in scheduling work and coordinating tasks.
* Evaluating schedule progress and performance, identifying issues.
* Analyzing float, critical path, and constraints to assess the impact of changes or slippages, recommending recovery actions.
* Supporting change management processes and procedures.
* Undertaking project progress reviews.
* Monitoring and advising on project KPIs and understanding Earned Value Management (EVM) reports.
Qualifications
You should have professional Project Controls experience, specializing in Planning and Scheduling across various sectors and project stages. Nuclear experience is desirable but not mandatory. You should be proficient with Primavera (P6) and other planning software, able to liaise with multidisciplinary teams, and possess good communication, research, and analytical skills. Experience in leading or inspiring a project planning team and managing stakeholders is also important. A desire to work in the nuclear sector is preferred.
