We are seeking a Tax Analyst, Production Tax - UK, to support the day-to-day tax operations and provide tax planning and structuring support for Netflix’s growing studio production business in London. The ideal candidate will join our UK-based production tax team and have excellent organizational and collaborative communication skills, along with a strong attention to detail and a hands-on mentality. This role offers opportunities for growth as our business expands, helping you become a well-rounded tax professional with industry expertise.
Responsibilities:
1. Research and develop a thorough understanding of UK and international film and television production incentives.
2. Assist UK-based and inbound productions with evaluating and applying for UK production incentives, including preparing incentive applications, gathering required documents, reviewing budgets, and updating incentive tracking systems.
3. Support production finance and physical production teams on UK tax matters, including corporate taxes, VAT, PAYE, NIC, off payroll worker rules, and Foreign Entertainers Unit (FEU) obligations.
4. Evaluate and obtain global production incentives, supporting budgeting, application, audit, and monetization phases.
5. Coordinate with external tax advisors and internal teams to review UK statutory accounts and tax returns, ensuring incentive administrative compliance.
6. Support Production Tax Senior Analysts across production verticals on business, tax, and incentive planning matters.
7. Collaborate with content accounting on financial reporting of incentives.
8. Research complex tax issues and prepare technical documentation.
9. Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax legislation, and communicate updates effectively to business partners.
Candidate Profile:
1. Chartered Accountancy or relevant tax qualification.
2. Recent qualified individuals working towards senior/assistant manager level in an accountancy practice or studio.
3. 3 to 4 years of UK tax consulting or industry experience.
4. Experience with tax issues related to studio productions is preferred but not required.
5. Proactive and advocate for continuous learning and improvement.
