About the Role:
We're looking for an experienced Pump Fitter / Pump Repair Engineer to join our workshop team. The role is primarily workshop-based, focusing on strip-downs, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds of a wide range of industrial pumps - including centrifugal, submersible, multistage, positive displacement, progressive cavity, and turbine pumps — with occasional site work for installation, laser alignment, and commissioning.
Main Duties:
* Strip down, inspect, and rebuild a variety of pumps (centrifugal, submersible, multistage, positive displacement, progressive cavity, turbine, etc.)
* Identify component wear, assess condition, and determine replacement parts required
* Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and dial test indicators.
* Replace bearings, seals, impellers, and shafts to specification
* Complete detailed job cards, inspection sheets, and repair reports accurately
* Perform laser alignment and assist with on-site installation and rebuild work when needed.
* Work safely and maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop cleanliness
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Pump Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or in rotating equipment repair dealing with a variety of pumps is essential (5 Years minimum)
* Hands-on experience working with a wide range of pump types, including centrifugal, submersible, multistage, positive displacement, and progressive cavity is a must.
* Experience working on equipment from a wide range of manufacturers, with the ability to adapt to different designs and specifications
* Skilled in using precision measuring tools and working to specified tolerances
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems and pump operation
* Ability to read engineering drawings and follow repair procedures
* Knowledge of carrying out basic electrical tests on a range of motors
* Full UK driving licence (preferred)
* Reliable, safety-conscious, and takes pride in quality work
