If you are a registered Arts Therapist/Psychotherapist who is driven, passionate about working with people to help them live their best lives, and want to work for a caring organisation, then this is the role for you!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered Arts Therapist/Psychotherapist to join the Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team (CREST). The service employs an innovative model to provide rehabilitative care to people with complex and severe mental health issues, aligning with our Community Mental Health Transformation programme to improve service delivery.
The role offers the chance to make a real difference, supporting individuals to engage in daily activities, integrate into their communities, and lead more independent, meaningful lives. It provides opportunities for team working, autonomy, variety, and professional development, including leadership and clinical skills growth.
The CREST team is the first community mental health service within Berkshire Healthcare where Arts Therapy is central to our service delivery. The post holder will play a pivotal role in delivering this innovative service, developing expertise in Rehabilitation for Complex Psychosis, and contributing to service development, including the implementation of evidence-based Arts Therapy assessment tools and interventions.
On a daily basis, the Arts Therapist will support patients through a needs-led, patient-centred approach to care. Each patient will have a bespoke care plan, developed in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and the patient's care coordinator.
The role includes supporting patients in developing skills and relationships to enable healthy, fulfilling lives. Activities may include home visits or arts therapy sessions in clinical spaces.
The Arts Therapist will ensure high-quality, evidence-based care, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidance on recovery to inform service delivery. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including other BHFT services, and overcoming communication barriers are also key responsibilities.
