The Role
As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and producing high-quality fabricated assemblies, including tanks, frames and conveyor units. This is a hands-on role requiring strong MIG welding experience, excellent attention to detail, and confidence using a wide range of workshop machinery and hand tools.
You will work as part of a supportive team in a busy fabrication environment, ensuring all work meets required quality, accuracy and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
2. Fabricate tanks, conveyors and various metal components to precise specifications
3. Perform MIG welding on mild steel (typically 3mm - 10mm thickness)
4. Carry out metal finishing including grinding, linishing and deburring
5. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
6. Operate workshop machinery including:
Guillotine
Folders
Rollers
Drills
7. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of accuracy and workmanship
8. Maintain a clean and safe working environment
9. Follow company procedures and health & safety guidelines at all times
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
10. Proven MIG welding experience (3mm-10mm mild steel)
11. Ability to confidently read and work from technical/engineering drawings
12. Strong fabrication skills, including cutting, bending, tacking and assembling
13. Experience using hand tools (grinders, linishers, drills, etc.)
14. Competent operating fabrication machinery (guillotines, folders, rollers)
15. Excellent attention to detail and quality of finish
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
17. Experience fabricating conveyors or tanks
18. Additional welding skills (TIG, stick, etc.)
19. Experience in a manufacturing or production workshop environment
