Overview
Senior Business Support Assistant role at East Lothian Council based at Ross High School, Tranent, East Lothian. This is a 39-week sessional post with hours during school term time plus in-service days. Salary: hourly rate £13.48 - £14.33; part-time or sessional posts pro-rated accordingly. Start date: as soon as possible. This role provides administrative, clerical, reception and information support to the school and liaises with parents/carers and partners.
Responsibilities
* Provide administrative, clerical, reception and information support to the school.
* Assist with day-to-day office tasks within defined regulations and procedures.
* Refer to the Job Outline/Person Specification for the full range of duties and ensure all essential criteria are met for interview consideration.
* Engage with the East Lothian Way values and behaviours as part of daily work; prepare for interview questions based on these behaviours.
* Support liaison with parent/carers and partner organisations as required.

* Site: Ross High School, a co-educational, non-denominational school in Tranent, East Lothian.
* Contract: part-time, 39-week sessional post (term time plus in-service days).
* Working days/hours: Thursday & Friday; start and finish times flexible and to be confirmed with the successful applicant.
* PVG requirements: This post is a Regulated Role with vulnerable groups; PVG membership or update required prior to formal offer.
* Overseas criminal record check may be required if spent time outside the UK in the last 5 years.
Qualifications
* Educated to Higher level, National Certificate (NC) or SVQ level 2 in English or equivalent knowledge/experience.
* Ability to demonstrate relevant skills and competencies gained through experience if not meeting formal qualifications.
