Must be a qualified pharmacy technician with GPHC registration or the ability to register by September/October 2025. The role involves supporting the main dispensary, including controlled drug dispensing, managing supplies, and supporting outpatient services. The technician will participate in a rotational schedule across various pharmacy services such as outpatient, dispensary, ward-based medicines management, aseptic preparation, procurement, and distribution.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Interpreting, validating, and dispensing prescriptions for in-patients and out-patients, including controlled drugs.
2. Operating automated dispensing systems and managing stock levels.
3. Preparing aseptic products after appropriate training.
4. Participating in pharmacy store management, including ordering and invoicing.
5. Providing ward-based stock control and medicines management, including drug histories and medication assessments.
6. Working towards Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) status after gaining sufficient experience.
7. Supporting training and education initiatives, maintaining CPD records.
8. Participating in extended hours services, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
9. Ensuring compliance with SOPs, health and safety regulations, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Applicants must have proven experience in pharmaceutical services, NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, and registration or ability to register with GPHC. Community pharmacy technicians with relevant qualifications and those awaiting registration will be considered, with full training provided. The role requires flexibility in working hours and may involve completing an accredited checking course if not already certified.
