Air Quality Consultant (1-2 Years' Experience)

Salary: £28,000-£32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working Pattern: Hybrid working (minimum one day per week in the Brighton office)
A growing environmental consultancy is looking to appoint an Air Quality Consultant with 1-2 years' experience to join its established team in Brighton. This role is ideal for an early-career consultant seeking to strengthen technical capability while progressing within a supportive and professional consultancy environment.
Based in Brighton, the team delivers air quality services across a wide range of development and infrastructure projects, with particular expertise in road traffic-related emissions. The position offers exposure to varied project types alongside structured guidance to support ongoing development.
The Role
Working from Brighton and across client sites as required, you will contribute to the delivery of air quality assessments from inception through to reporting. The role combines technical analysis with collaborative project work and client interaction.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing air quality assessments to support planning and development projects
Undertaking air dispersion modelling, particularly for schemes influenced by road traffic emissions
Assisting with the preparation of technical reports and supporting documentation
Interpreting monitoring and modelling outputs and communicating results clearly
Working closely with colleagues and clients across multiple projects
Hybrid working is available, with a minimum attendance requirement at the Brighton office each week.
About You
Essential criteria:
1-2 years' professional experience in air quality consultancy or a closely related field
Practical experience using air dispersion modelling tools, including road traffic models
Experience assessing developments impacted by traffic-related emissions
Membership of the IAQM, or actively working towards membership
A relevant degree in environmental science, air quality, or a related discipline
Strong written and verbal communication skills
