About the role
Balfour Beatty is a leading international infrastructure group, delivering some of the UK’s most ambitious and high‑profile projects. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Site Engineer to join our team working on the N1/N2 Headhouse Project in Birmingham, a key element of the HS2 programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nationally significant infrastructure project that will shape the future of transport in the UK.
What you’ll be doing
* Be setting out and surveying works in accordance with design drawings
* Ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards
* Support the management of subcontractors on site
* Maintain accurate site records, including as‑built documentation
* Assist with the preparation of method statements and risk assessments
* Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
* Liaise with design teams, project managers, and other stakeholders
Who we’re looking for
* Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
* Previous experience in a Site Engineer role, ideally on large infrastructure projects
* Strong understanding of setting‑out techniques and surveying equipment
* Experience working with reinforced concrete, structures, or heavy civils (desirable)
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within construction
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* CSCS card (essential)
