There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Essex Division is looking to recruit an Assistant Technical Coordinator to join the Division’s Technical team.
The Role
The role of Assistant Technical Coordinator will be to support the Technical Director and Technical Coordinator team in the management and overseeing of technical matters across multiple projects from conception to completion.
Principle accountabilities of the role include:
1. Support with the management of tendering and appointment of design consultants and design process to secure accurate and comprehensive sets of information from the outset
2. Support with the procurement and management of utilities / services
3. Support with maintaining a robust programme of works for all technical aspects including management of fees budget
4. Provide support to discharge planning & building regulation conditions
5. Assist the team with the procurement of warranties
6. Support with validating conveyance plans and easements
7. Assist with the management of / satisfying regulatory bodies such as Planning, Building Control, and the Fire Brigade
8. Assist with the control and issue of site information and drawings
9. Liaise with the Commercial department to ensure all relevant orders are in place and budgets / cost to complete are accurate
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
10. Entry level architectural drawing experience is desirable
11. Entry level knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards is desirable
12. Experience working as a coordinator / within a technical function for a volume house builder is desirable
Qualifications and Training
13. Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a technical subject with relevant experience / working towards or starting a relevant accreditation
14. CSCS card or equivalent.
15. Current full UK driving licence
Skills and Aptitude
16. Basic understanding of building techniques, materials and regulations
17. Basic knowledge of CDM regulations
18. Strong communication, listening, presentation skills and excellent attention to detail
19. Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards
20. Ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner
21. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
22. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
23. Ability to problem solve and delegate effectively
24. Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems
