Role: Technical Lecturer – Electrical Installation
Location: Tresham College – Corby and Wellingborough Campuses
Salary/Benefits: Salary between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum, DOE and Qualifications, plus up to a £10,000 market supplement, 45 days annual leave + bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, professional and personal development opportunities, access to college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role
We are seeking a Technical Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Construction department at Tresham College. As a Technical Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Curriculum Delivery & Electrical/Gas Provision: Plan, develop and deliver high‑quality teaching across Electrical Installation and Building Services programmes, including Gas training, aligned to industry standards and learner progression.
- Teaching, Learning & Student Development: Deliver engaging, practical learning experiences, supporting learners to develop skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve success.
- Assessment, Progress & Behaviour Management: Monitor attendance and progress, assess learner performance, manage behaviour effectively and implement interventions to support achievement.
- Planning, Resources & Safe Learning Environments: Prepare schemes of work, design differentiated lessons and maintain safe, compliant workshops through risk assessment and effective resource management.
- Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance: Contribute to curriculum development, team activities and marketing events, while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and continuous professional development standards.
About you
- Qualifications, Electrical Expertise & Development: Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations with strong industry experience, supported by a commitment to achieving teaching and assessor qualifications (TAQA/Cert Ed).
- Teaching, Delivery & Learner Engagement: Able to deliver engaging teaching across vocational levels, using varied methods to motivate learners and support achievement and progression.
- Industry Knowledge, Quality & Health & Safety: Up‑to‑date technical knowledge and understanding of quality assurance systems, with strong application of health and safety in practical environments.
- Organisation, Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, able to manage workload effectively, communicate confidently and contribute positively within a team.
- Professional Values, CPD & Flexibility: Committed to safeguarding, continuous professional development and learner success, with a flexible approach to working across sites and adapting to changing demands.
