Overview
The primary purpose of the Packing Department Manager (White Sugar) is to safely and hygienically manage cost-efficient packing of all products within the White Sugar Packing Department, ensuring quality and quantity targets are met to fulfill customer and marketing requirements.
Responsibilities
* Manage safety, hygiene, environment, and quality in line with T&L Sugars Management Systems to promote continuous improvement.
* Achieve high OEE at minimum cost by effectively managing packing and support resources, including improving changeover processes and reducing downtime.
* Ensure customer requirements are met through planned production and timely shipment.
* Collaborate with the Packing Maintenance Department Manager to develop maintenance and spares strategies for OEE improvements.
* Maintain service level relationships with support functions such as Refining, Quality, and Purchasing.
* Develop organizational structure and personnel aligned with business needs.
* Control packing costs and budgets.
* Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Planning to optimize supply solutions, including support for new product introductions and contract packers.
Required Experience
* Experience in commercial management and budget control.
* Understanding of packing principles.
* Management experience in safety, hygiene, environment, and quality.
* Progression in departmental management within a blue-chip manufacturing environment.
* Significant change management experience.
* Continuous improvement initiatives experience.
Education
* Technical graduate (preferably engineering) or equivalent experience in packing operations.
