Responsibilities

* Support the development and application of AnyLogic rail simulation models, contributing to discrete event simulation, visualisation and analytical outputs under the guidance of senior team members.

* Support project delivery activities, including defined elements of technical delivery, documentation and quality assurance in line with WSP processes.
* Assist with the production of professional‑quality reports, presentations and proposals, ensuring outputs are accurate, well‑structured and clearly communicated.
* Work collaboratively with UK and India‑based team members, contributing to a positive team culture and effective knowledge sharing.
* Actively engage in learning and development opportunities, including training, mentoring and on‑the‑job experience, to build capability in AnyLogic and rail‑specific simulation approaches.
* Support lessons‑learned activities and knowledge sharing within the team, adopting and applying established good practice in modelling and analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications

* Degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline.
* Early‑career or developing experience in simulation, modelling or analytical roles.
* Familiarity with simulation, analytical or data analysis tools, with experience or exposure to AnyLogic essential.
* Logical, structured problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyse information and apply sound reasoning.
* Curiosity and enthusiasm for developing technical skills, with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Organised and detail‑oriented approach, with appreciation of quality, safety, programme and delivery requirements.
* Positive and professional attitude, openness to feedback and willingness to take responsibility for personal development.
* Experience of rail operations or performance analysis is advantageous but not essential.

Benefits

* Hybrid working policy: flexible work from home two days a week and office collaboration.
* Inclusive workplace with employee resource groups and a culture that welcomes applicants with varied backgrounds and experiences.
* Health & well‑being support, including the Thrive programme, virtual GP service, Gymflex scheme, and comprehensive menopause support package.
* Work‑time flexibility options such as WSP My Hour, part‑time and flexible working arrangements, the option to purchase additional leave, and the ability to use bank holiday entitlement.
* Professional development opportunities, including training, mentoring, and support for chartership.

We are committed to equality and diversity and welcome applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, pregnancy or maternity/paternity.
