This position offers hands-on technical exposure to modern automated systems and PLC-controlled equipment, with opportunities to mentor apprentices and support ongoing site improvements. Working on a 4 on 4 off days only rotation.What Youll Be Doing Undertaking electrical work in accordance with UK legislation and company safe working proceduresPerforming fault finding on automated plant and electrically driven machineryMaintaining and modifying PLC-controlled equipment to meet production requirementsConducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actionsSupporting process improvements and energy reduction initiativesMaintaining electrical diagrams, circuit schedules and technical documentationEnsuring safety-related control systems for machinery are maintained and compliantDelivering timely completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedulesSupporting mentoring and development of apprenticesContributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational reliabilityWhat Youll Bring Time-served electrical engineering apprenticeship18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382)Strong understanding of functional safety and machinery safety-related control systemsExperience with motor control systems, VFD/DC drives and cable sizingKnowledge of weighing systems (e.g., load cells)Ability to read and maintain technical drawings and control panel designsIT literacy and ability to maintain digital recordsFlexible approach to working hoursAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDesirable qualifications and knowledge may include:Electrical AM2 Practical AssessmentInspection and Testing (City & Guilds 2391)IOSH Managing SafelyWorking knowledge of PUWEREngineering Technician (TechEng) statusIET membershipTraining in risk assessment, working at height, manual handling and incident investigationWe are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
