WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a defence engineering company based in the UK. We design, manufacture and support military vehicles used by the British Army and international customers.
As an Electronics Engineer, you will be getting involved in the design, development & integration of equipment at the system and sub-system levels. The scope of the role will involve electronics design and interfacing elements such as cable harness schematics and mechanical interfacing.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement designs and concepts for electronic products and systems which simultaneously fulfil contractual requirements and contribute to cost-effective design.
Support the overall system design process to ensure optimal allocation of functionality between different parts of the system.
Preparing detailed drawings, schematics and models using computer aided design software.
Selecting appropriate components for PCB prototyping and manufacture.
Building and testing of prototype PCB designs.
Optimising designs to meet stringent standards for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
Assisting in the validation and verification of systems, which may include producing test tools, the generation of test schedules, test and integration plans and technical reports.
Provide support to task planning and estimating.
Maintain an up to date understanding of technical / engineering developments and apply this knowledge appropriately to the projects in hand.
Schedule own work to meet target timescales and deliverable milestones.
Perform self-verification of own tasks to ensure completeness and quality of information.
Undertake peer reviews to ensure completeness and quality of output.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Essential:
Degree qualified or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related subject.
Minimum of 5 years industry experience in electrical or electronics design and development.
Experience with electronics or electrical design software.
Experience of diagnosing, testing and fault finding electrical and electronic systems.
Knowledge of the full product development lifecycle.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills.Desirable:
Experience working in a regulated environment such as Defence.
Ability to define, deploy, and refine processes and best practices within Zuken E3 - including; electrical topology, wiring schematics and 2D manufacturing drawing processes and standards.
Competence in the use of 3D software (ideally Siemens NX) for the production of 3D models and 2D drawings to BS8888.
Experience of PTC Creo.
Working knowledge of the basic requirements specified in Def Stan 61-5 Part 6 (Nominal 12V and 24V DC Electrical Systems in Military Platforms) and Def Stan 59-411 (Electromagnetic Compatibility).WHAT WE OFFER YOU
