The Head of Strategic Workforce Planning leads the identification of the skills, knowledge and capabilities needed to meet the University of Warwick’s strategic aims. They define and develop the method of analysis, forecasting and planning workforce supply and demand, leveraging data to identify the gaps and collaborates with the broader People function, especially the Talent team, to agree strategies to achieve a workforce with the right size, shape, cost and capability for both short and long-term success.

The Head of Strategic Workforce Planning leads the identification of the skills, knowledge and capabilities needed to meet the University of Warwick’s strategic aims. They define and develop the method of analysis, forecasting and planning workforce supply and demand, leveraging data to identify the gaps and collaborates with the broader People function, especially the Talent team, to agree strategies to achieve a workforce with the right size, shape, cost and capability for both short and long-term success.
About You
Duties and responsibilities:
* Introduce and establish the strategic workforce planning capability across the organisation, communicating the need for and benefits of this capability to meet strategic aims
* Analyse the current workforce, determining future talent and capability needs, identifying the gap between the present and the future, and developing solutions for the University to achieve operational and strategic resource plans.
* Gather intelligence on industry trends, how key roles are evolving across higher education and what factors affect the ability to achieve talent and capability goals
* Lead on the development of strategic workforce modelling, providing insight and coordination for the workforce planning and building the University’s capability to define and interpret talent and workforce data
* Develop the workforce planning cycle, collaborating with the broader function to achieve within the People calendar
* Promote and be an ambassador for further professional development of self and team.
Actively manage self-understanding and knowledge of the external developments in this speciality.
