Deputy Care Operations Manager (Maidstone)

* To support and transport vulnerable service users as part of a team.
* To be able to attend the office within one hour during on-call shifts.
* Maintain an Enhanced DBS (organized and paid for during Induction).
* To provide a professional and caring service for all patients whilst in our care.
* To ensure that patient safety remains paramount at all times, and safe systems of work are adhered to.
* To support the care of patients during assessments in line with the Mental Health Act.
* Safe use of company vehicles and equipment, preparing required patient paperwork, and driving to local and national locations.


Main duties of the job

Key Skills:

* Valid Manual Driving Licence for the UK held for a minimum of 1 year.
* Age over 21 due to the company's insurance.
* Passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
* Able to reliably adapt and work well under pressure.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.

This is a full-time position: 40.3 hours per week, working on a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern, alternating between days and nights.

Due to the nature of the business and client requirements, working times may change with reasonable notice. Flexibility may be needed due to patient care needs, which could result in over-runs or hours adjustments.

The contract pays a blended rate of £14.29 per hour (day, night, and weekend shifts). The annual remuneration starts from £29,993.83, based on expected hours.

* Over-runs paid at £22 per hour.
* Enhanced pay of £1.20 extra per hour for work at a Mental Health place of safety and bed watch activities, supporting ward staff.
* Shift pay enhancements of an additional £1.75 per hour for some call-in or overtime shifts. Further details will be discussed during the interview process.

Job responsibilities

* Enforce all aspects of health & safety, monitoring standards daily to ensure compliance with legislation.
* Act as a role model for quality patient care, the company's values, policies, and procedures.
* Be the custodian of the Code of Conduct, promoting professional behaviour within the team.
* Monitor patient care standards, foster a learning culture, and provide solutions for continual improvement.
* Coordinate recruitment, induction, development, and retention of the team.
* Motivate and demonstrate genuine care through professional communication, meetings, teamworking, and coaching.
* Identify development needs within the team and ensure they have the skills and motivation to meet objectives and manage poor performance.
* Manage the accurate implementation of electronic systems for data capture, review, and resolve issues promptly.
* Balance administrative duties with team needs when transitioning patients.
* Maintain own professional development and reflective practice.
* Achieve business KPIs, goals, and objectives.
* Ensure vehicle standards are maintained at the highest level.
* Support and deliver new company initiatives.
* Manage rotas effectively to optimize productivity and care standards.
* Use reports and data for effective decision-making, including timesheet approval.
* Support teams when on call.
* Develop business opportunities through networking and relationships.
* Maintain high professional standards to protect the SCUK brand.
* Collaborate with company departments for deployments, audits, and procedures.
* Ensure all activities comply with legislation.
* Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.


Person Specification


Experience

* Full UK manual driving license and at least 1 year of driving experience.
* Experience working in the care sector.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A disclosure check via the DBS will be required to check for any criminal convictions.
