Overview
Computational Research Fellow (Mechanical and Aerospace Systems) (Fixed Term) – University of Nottingham. The Mechanical and Aerospace Systems Research Group (MAS) requires an Experimental Research Fellow who is experienced in the field of multiphase computational fluid mechanics and aero-engine oil systems to work across several industry relevant projects.
The successful candidate will design, conduct, analyse and disseminate computational work in the field of multiphase flows for aero-engine oil systems. To achieve this, the candidate should be able to demonstrate capability in the application of a range of multiphase flow modelling techniques to challenges in the aerospace industry. The MAS group and faculty have an excellent international reputation for high quality theoretical and experimental research funded by EU, EPSRC, BEIS, Innovate-UK and directly with industry. The faculty was the first engineering department in the UK to be awarded an Athena Swan Gold award for advancing gender equality in higher education. Applications from all backgrounds are encouraged.
This full-time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until the 31st of December 2026.
Responsibilities
* Design, conduct, analyse and disseminate computational work in the field of multiphase flows for aero-engine oil systems.
* Demonstrate capability in the application of a range of multiphase flow modelling techniques to challenges in the aerospace industry.
* Collaborate with MAS group members, engineers, technicians, support staff and academics to deliver research from fundamental to high level TRL.

Details
* Salary: £31,387 to £46,485 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
